Introduction to Information Technology (9th or 10th grade)- Both the Cisco Networking Academy and the Oracle Database Programming Academy begin with the Intro to IT course. The Introduction to Information Technology course teaches students the basics of hardware & software computer repair. The course curriculum prepares students to take the A+ CompTIA hardware and software certifications. After becoming a licensed compute repair technician this certification will allow students to become more marketable in the IT workforce.

The Cisco Networking Academy

The Cisco Networking Academy (10-12th grade) honors courses prepare students to pass the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) professional exam and become networking engineers before they leave high school. This professional certification in networking can be used to secure lucrative jobs in a high-demand marketplace. The networking job market will grow by 57% within the next few years and the Cisco Networking Academy is an initiative to try and prepare high school students with the professional skills that they need to become certified professionals upon exiting the program. Students will learn the basics of electric and wave based communications, LAN topology design, router configuration and security, WAN internet protocols, and wireless networking. Students graduating from these programs can continue their education in college and receive additional training (CCNP, fiber-optics, etc.), that will help them find lucrative careers in an IT market that is in high demand of skilled workers.
